The national weekend auction market reported a clearance rate of 68.2%, significantly higher than the same weekend last year.

Over the weekend, auction markets experienced slightly lower clearance rates and fewer listings on Saturday, reflecting the quieter winter market now taking shape.

The question arises: is a new housing boom underway? In April, a global house-price index, excluding China, increased by over 3% year-on-year. American house prices have risen 6.5% from a year ago, Australian prices are up 5%, and Portuguese prices are soaring.

Despite these indicators, buyers are encountering delays in the anticipated market transformation, largely due to persistent challenges. One such challenge is inflation, which continues to linger, postponing potential Federal Reserve rate cuts.
