2021 has been a fast paced market where are we at?
Quick snap-shot!
- A recent report by ANZ Bank predicts house prices at the national level will rise to a solid 17% through 2021, before reducing to 6% in 2022
Forecasters Predictions
- Sydney house prices up 19% by years end
- Brisbane house prices up 16% by years end
- Melbourne house prices up by 16% by years end
- Christopher Joye from Coolabah Capital Investments – is predicting substantial property price growth through to the end of 2023
- QLD market is performing well. Even inland regional hubs like Ipswich and Toowoomba have recorded up to 28 per cent growth in 12 months.
- A heap of other regions of Queensland are struggling to meet buyer demand, with limited stock on the market, and many properties selling in days or weeks rather than months.
- Low mortgage interest rates and even lower rates of interest on bank savings are partly behind the surge in buyer activity.
- Commercial Office: With arguable the highest vacancy rate since July 2014, you would expect subdued market conditions in the Sydney CBD strata office market. What we are seeing is a continued push by owner-occupiers to secure a piece of the ever-reducing strata market.
