What’s Shaping the Property Market
Auction clearance rates have slowed across the board. Are we in a buyer’s market, or is it too early to call? My advice: don’t wait for the perfect moment to buy. If you’ve got a long-term outlook and are ready to act, now is the time to make your move. A potential reduction in interest rates could fuel another rebound next year, and don’t overlook the impact of immigration on demand.
NAB has revised its interest rate cut forecast to February 2025, in line with Westpac and ANZ, anticipating a gradual decline to 3.10% by early 2026.
Sydney property prices have remained stable, with a 0.1% monthly increase and up 4.0% year-over-year. Brisbane prices also rose 0.1% last week and 0.7% monthly, reflecting a 13.7% annual increase.
The property undersupply is expected to continue, and experts agree we won’t meet housing construction targets.
The industrial sector continues to thrive, making it a strong option for first-time commercial investors.
